Hi. My name is Tae Shimazu, and I am Japanese. Today, I’d like to tell you about my love story in New Zealand. I can’t tell you the story without talking about Languages International, because everything started there.
In 1998, I went to New Zealand to study English, and of course, chose Languages International as my school. From the very first day, I made some good friends who were from all over the world. A few weeks later, one of my friends introduced me to her classmate, Daniel Kim, who was from South Korea. As soon as I saw him I just fell in love with him! Haha
I was happy being with him even as just friends. We spent a lot of time together, went on a cool trip with our other friends, went bungee jumping together (I definitely recommend that you try bungee jumping with someone you like. Why? You can google “Misattribution of arousal”… use science to get a boyfriend lol)- and he finally started to like me back!!!
I met a lovely boy, sweet friends, and nice teachers all in one beautiful country. It was one of the happiest times in my life. Even after Daniel and I finished studying there and went back to our own countries, we kept in touch for a few years and eventually got married.
Now, we have two daughters and live in America, together since almost 20 years since we met each other. It’s one of our dreams to visit Languages International with our girls and show them how beautiful New Zealand is.
Thank you for giving me the chance to meet my husband. I love Languages International!!!
