Under the rules of NZQA’s Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice, all international students studying at Languages International have to have appropriate travel and medical insurance. Appropriate insurance means:

- An insurer with a credit rating no lower than ‘A’ from Standard and Poors or B+ from A M Best, and which is able to provide services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Cover that includes at least the following types and limits:
Events | Cover limits (New Zealand dollars) |
Medical & Related Expenses (including Evacuation, Repatriation & Cancellation) | Unlimited |
Luggage & Personal Effects | $15,000 |
Missed Transport Connection | $25,000 |
